Born 1943, Mina de Jabali, Chontales. A painter and sculptor, and with Arostequi and Morales, one of the leading painters in Nicaragua. Sobalvarro is an extraordinary interpreter of allegory and abstract symbolism. He studied at the National School of Fine Arts and with Arostequi was co-founder of the Praxis Group. Internationally recognized and known, he has received numerous prizes and awards in Nicaragua and Latin America. He has exhibited in Europe and the U.S. His paintings are in the private collections of financial institutions, museums and in personal collections in the United States and Latin America.
